Rates and fees
We can provide home and community visits. Services can be provided at school or preschool if your child or young person is in education. We know for some young people sensory issues can make community appointments challenging and we are happy to work in with what works best for your whānau.
We know that funding speech language therapy is a luxury for many families. If cost is a barrier, we may be able to provide ideas for funding support if available (for example The Upside Downs Trust), or can help you with a referral to the Ministry of Education Specialists – they will advise if your child or young person is eligible for their services. There is also a clinic at the University of Canterbury with student clinicians that may be a good fit with some families.
Meet and Greet: FREE
You may want to meet with your therapist and decide if they are good fit for your family. By arrangement and availability there is no charge for a meet and greet of half an hour.
Home Visits:
Session duration
One hour 160.00 + GST (184.00 incl GST if any) with travel up to 10km
45 Minutes 140.00 + GST (161.00 incl GST if any) with travel up to 10km
30 Minutes 90.00 + GST (103.50 incl GST if any) with travel up to 10km
Half Hour Sessions - shorter sessions are for direct speech sound work. More complex needs (e.g. language difficulties) will need longer sessions.
Home visit rates include travel up to 10 km. For visits further from our base locations, there may be additional travel charges at the current IRD rate (122c per km). If there is considerable travel time there may be a travel time fee also. This will be discussed with you in advance so you know what costs will be involved.
Rates are reviewed annually and will be adjusted in line with rising costs.
Report Writing & Referrals:
$160.00 + GST per hour (184.00 incl GST if any)
Attending Professional Meetings:
$160.00 + GST per hour (184.00 incl GST if any)
Other Services:
Feeding Assessments and support:
We have access to support from a paediatric dietitian.
Early Intervention/ Behavioural/ Sensory Support:
We have access to support from an Early Intervention Teacher.
Therapy Assistants available if required
Assistive Technology CAT 1 Assessments:
Augmentative and Alternative Communication Assessments will be charged at the standard rates. A loan iPad is available for trial with a variety of communication apps loaded. Alternatively if you have a family device the apps can be loaded on to that. There is a considerable component of report writing for applications.
Professional Development and Staff Training:
For all education settings and team members. This can be designed for your organization's needs and goals.
Cancellations and rescheduling:
Cancellations make running a business very tricky. We know that children and young people get sick and have things on. Please let us know asap by text or email if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations will be charged as follows:
Less than 12 hours notice: full fee
12-24 hours notice: 50% of fee
Reschedule more than 24 hours: no fee
Contagious illness:
Please let us know urgently if staff have been exposed to illness so we can minimise risk to other vulnerable clients.
Invoicing:
Invoices will be emailed following your appointment by your Speech & Language Therapist. Payment by bank transfer is required within 7 days. Statements and receipts can be sent if required. Let your therapist know asap if you have any issues with invoicing or costs.
