Speech and Language Therapy Christchurch is run by Jo Byrne.
Jo
Jo is an experienced specialist speech language therapist with a background in early intervention, specialist rehabilitation and educational settings. Jo graduated from the University of Canterbury with a degree in Speech Language Therapy, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences. Jo currently works in a special school setting and carries a small private caseload. Jo has always worked with infants, children and young people with disabilities, alongside their family and whānau.
Jo has extensive experience with users of augmentative and alternative communication both low and high tech. she maintains current knowledge in her areas of expertise.

Bernice
Bernice is a multilingual Speech-Language Therapist who is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese and Malay. She enjoys working alongside tamariki and whānau to achieve their communication and learning potential with evidence-based intervention. She has been a private practitioner since completing her Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology at University of Canterbury in 2018. She is passionate in creating neurodiversity affirming learning experiences and she has been working with neurodivergent children in educational settings for the past 10 years.
Bernice has a strong clinical interest in Speech Sounds Disorders, Language Intervention, Structured Literacy and Natural Language Acquisition. Bernice has completed additional training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech; Supporting Selective Mutism in the Early Years; Natural Language Acquisition, Echolalia and Gestalt Language Processing; Community Centred Assessment and Treatment for Children Who Stutter; Bilingual Children with Speech and Language Difficulties; and Assessment and Treatment for Speech Sound Disorders and Oromyofunctional Disorders in Children.

Brenda
Brenda brings fifteen years of experience to the team. Brenda is passionate about working alongside tamariki and whānau to achieve their communication and feeding goals. Brenda has worked internationally and locally with extensive work in early intervention. Brenda provides evidence based knowledge in child development and paediatric feeding with infants to school age. Brenda is passionate about building a child's meaningful communication and supporting positive kair time routines in the home and education settings. Brenda can also provide clinical supervision to other therapists. Brenda is a mum to two preschoolers and is active in her community supporting Playcentre Aotearoa and the early childhood learning centre that her children attend.
Kaleigh
Kaleigh is a recent graduate of the Master of Speech-Language Pathology programme at the University of Canterbury. Kaleigh is passionate in supporting people to adhieve meaningful communication and connections that enhance their quality of life. Kaleigh grew up in Canada, and now lives in New Zealand. Kaleigh loves our values of interconnectedness and whanaugatanga.
Kaleigh loves working with diverse populations, and has worked with children of all ages, as well as adults in Health settings, and loved her time in the Rainbow Voice Clinic. Kaleigh's warmth and energy helps her develop strong relationships with the clients she works with.
