Jo
Ashleigh
Ashleigh is an experienced paediatric Speech-Language Therapist who has been working with children since 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching and worked as an teacher for six years
before completing her Master of Speech Pathology and beginning her career as a Speech-Language Therapist in 2018. Ashleigh is a fully registered member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA).
Ashleigh supports tamariki with a wide range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language delays, social communication differences, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), and fluency. She has worked across a variety of settings, including the Ministry of Education and paediatric neurorehabilitation services, supporting both children and their whānau.
As an evidence-based practitioner, Ashleigh combines current research with clinical expertise and family knowledge to support each child’s individual communication profile. Her therapy approach is play-based, strengths-based, sensory-informed, and neuroaffirming, with sessions that follow children’s interests to build connection, engagement, and meaningful communication.
Ashleigh is particularly passionate about early intervention and supporting neurodivergent tamariki, creating therapy environments where children feel safe, regulated, and understood. She has completed additional specialist training in sensory-informed practice, AAC, neuroaffirming approaches, Gestalt Language Processing, the Lidcombe Program for early stuttering intervention, and Hanen. She loves keeping up with the latest research and has a strong passion for ongoing learning and professional development, continually expanding her knowledge to better support tamariki and their whānau.
Ashleigh is known for her warm, bubbly, and friendly approach when working with tamariki and their whānau. She also brings personal insight into navigating supports, as a parent of a child with developmental differences, which deepens her empathy and commitment to supporting families throughout their journey.


Brenda
Brenda brings fifteen years of experience to the team. Brenda is passionate about working alongside tamariki and whānau to achieve their communication and feeding goals. Brenda has worked internationally and locally with extensive work in early intervention. Brenda provides evidence based knowledge in child development and paediatric feeding with infants to school age. Brenda is passionate about building a child's meaningful communication and supporting positive kair time routines in the home and education settings. Brenda can also provide clinical supervision to other therapists. Brenda is a mum to two preschoolers and is active in her community supporting Playcentre Aotearoa and the early childhood learning centre that her children attend.

Kate
Kate is a warm and experienced Speech-Language Therapist who has supported whānau across Aotearoa for over a decade. She works closely with families to find real life communication solutions.
Kate has extensive clinical experience supporting children at home, in early childhood, and school settings. Whether it is finding ways to communicate, exploring and extending first words, being understood, early literacy skills, stuttering, navigating neurodiversity, or building social understanding, she provides practical and evidence-based support.
Hanen-certified in 'More Than Words', and 'It Takes Two to Talk', Kate is especially passionate about empowering adult communication partners. She's a mum to two lively kids and guardian to her brother with Down Syndrome - when he lets her!

Jo
Jo is an experienced specialist speech language therapist with a background in early intervention, specialist rehabilitation and educational settings. Jo graduated from the University of Canterbury with a degree in Speech Language Therapy, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences. Jo currently works in a special school setting and is available for communication assessments. Jo has always worked with infants, children and young people with disabilities, alongside their family and whānau.Jo has extensive experience with users of augmentative and alternative communication both low and high tech. she maintains current knowledge in her areas of expertise.
