Speech and Language Therapy Christchurch

Speech Language Therapy Christchurch is led by Brenda Sargent-Bradley and Kate McNeill, who together bring over 35 years of combined experience supporting tamariki and whānau across the Canterbury region (Including Ashburton). From early intervention and infant feeding through to school-age communication, literacy, and neurodiversity. Both SLT's are fully registered members of New Zealand Speech Therapy Association (NZSTA) and passionate about working alongside families to find real-life communication solutions.

Kate holds five Hanen certifications, reflecting a deep commitment to empowering parents and educators as communication partners. Brenda specialises in working with complex communication and feeding needs. Both therapists have strengths in building relationships and problem solving in all communication and speech areas.

Contact us now for support. We also have in-depth knowledge of many community allied supports that we can advise on.

The team provides specialist services for children and young people from birth to 21 years across all areas of communication and feeding, with coverage extending across Canterbury and into South Canterbury.

Speech Language Therapy Christchurch was founded by Jo Byrne in 2013. Following Jo's passing in 2026, the practice was taken over by Brenda and Kate, who continue her legacy by providing specialist speech and language therapy services.
